Upgrade in steps, or upgrade all at once?

There are many different ways to put together our upgrades.   Below I've listed a few different package options with pricing so you can get a basic idea of what it costs to upgrade Klipsch Belle speakers.   Prices do not include shipping.  Please consult with me about your options, I'll help you choose what will work best for you and your budget.

Example Upgrade Package #1

$1,828

• Belle V-Trac Horns
• V-120 Adapters
• VTB400 Crossover Networks

This package will substantially upgrade the midrange quality of the Belle by replacing the original small metal midrange horn with the smoother and bigger sounding V-Trac horn.  The crossover point between the midrange and the woofer lowers to 400Hz, transferring critical mid-bass sound from the bass horn to the big midrange horn.  The V-120 adapters "re-voice" the K55 drivers to mate up with the V-Trac and still leave the option open for adding the larger and higher quality 2"-outlet midrange drivers later on.  The custom crossover networks provide very high quality parts to gain better control over the sound of the entire speaker, provide a more constant impedance load to the amplifier (particularly good for tube amps), and have the ability to attenuate the midrange output.  The Crossovers are specifically built to provide the proper voicing for this upgrade package, but can also be used with the BMS midrange and Beyma tweeter combination when you're ready to upgrade.    The stock tweeters, wiring, and woofers remain.  You'll use your existing K55 midrange drivers.

This is a great way to take that first step into upgrading your Belle speakers, and it sets you up for being able to add the other upgrades later on as the budget allows.

Example Upgrade Package #2

• B&C DCM50 Midrange Drivers
• Ciare 1.26Nd Tweeters
• VTB400 Crossover Networks

This package steps the sound quality up a couple of notches by adding the big 2" throat midrange drivers and the upgraded tweeters.  The high quality B&C DCM50 midrange drivers combined with the large format midrange horns, makes for a remarkably smooth, big, wide-open sounding midrange.  I describe the B&C drivers as being just a bit warmer sounding than the BMS drivers.  The Ciare tweeters are a perfect match for this package, and I voice the crossover network specifically for this combination of drivers.

Example Upgrade Package #3

• Beyma CP25 Tweeters
• VTB400 Crossover Networks

This is very similar to package #2, except with the even higher quality BMS midrange drivers and Beyma tweeters.  The BMS drivers have better midrange clarity than the B&C drivers, and the Beyma tweeters are still the best sounding high-efficiency tweeters I know of.

Example Upgrade Package #4

• New Wiring Kit

This is the top of the line package, with all that is in Package #3, plus upgraded woofers and a custom wiring kit for convenience and quality when hooking up all the new components.  This package represents the State-of-the-art in performance for the Belle speaker format.

I want to thank you for your Belle V-Trac upgrade package.   We are totally satisfied.   It was very securely packaged, timely shipped and the superior quality of construction is very obvious.   Installation was straightforward (I should note I have employed an extra set of hands for such tasks since I passed 60).   Your instructions were easy to follow, assembly took a little over an hour.   Same room, same positioning, same equipment: upgraded Belles increase the presence and depth of every selection.   I am partial to Jazz, Classical, most Rock and a little of everything else.   Nothing seems to get lost by these speakers and I have confidence in the quality of what I hear.   I am reminded these speakers (stock Belles) were loved by everyone before the mods; nonetheless, the listening experience is noticeably improved.  

In terms of personal taste, last night's selections from Alan Parsons, Ponty, Matsui, Dexter Gordon and Edgar Winter fared very well.   Also Buffalo Springfield, Doobies, Steely Dan, Michael McDonald.   I notice more realism in the emotion projected by the human voice.   This is not limited to the obvious.   Example: Cocker's "You Are So Beautiful" silenced and absorbed a small party of more than casual listeners.   Cocker's voice is what it is, it is the emotion presented that seems to reach out for consideration.   Not overwhelming, just listen.   Anyway, in our opinion your Belle V-Trac upgrade package substantially adds to the magic that is music.   Good luck in your current and future endeavors, and I am looking forward to further dealings.
